Using your card safely
Shopping on the internet
- only shop with reputable companies
- never email your card details or PIN
- always look out for the padlock sign in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen - it means your card details are safeguarded by the site host
Using your card to pay over the phone
- never disclose your PIN (not even to the Bank or the Police)
- you may be asked for the last three digits on your card's signiture strip, only give this information if requested
Protecting your identity
- always keep receipts safe and when you dispose of them make sure that your card details cannot be read
- before you give your personal details to anyone, be sure that you know who they are and don't be afraid to ask them why they need this information
